Ouch! It's been a loong time since I posted, but I finally have one up - just added an entry to Oct. 15.

And, yes - I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year, because I'm a glutton for punishment. Yeek. So, between NaNoWriMo, 600 Seconds, and rehearsals for The Crucible, I can tell I won't have much time.

Hi! I'm so sorry I haven't been able to send in topics/write, my computer was completely fried by viruses for the last couple of weeks.

Anybody know of any completely reliable, completely free anti-virus software? *sigh* Didn't think so.

I'm toying with the idea of taking a stab at NaNoWriMo again this year, but I'm not so sure about it. I'm starting a busy new job on Monday, and I doubt I'm going to have time for such an ambitious project. Even last year, when I had more time, I didn't write much more than a few hundred words.

Besides, I'd much rather take the ideas I've got running through my head right now and turn them into short stories. I think I need to concentrate on finishing those first.

But best of writing to any of you who do participate.

Yikes! It's been a long time since I posted anything. Sorry about that. Joining 600 Seconds had the unintended consequence of convincing me it was time to get serious about my writing, which of course makes it work, which of course means I can't bring myself to do it anymore. That probably explains why I haven't managed so much as a short story since college.

Is anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year? I'm making my fourth attempt. I think this year as long as I remember it's supposed to be fun, I have a good chance.

According to their website, Schlotzky's has only one location in Pennsylvania, in Pittsburgh. There was talk, years back, about an internet cafe on College Avenue, but that never seemed to happen. There's a new building on west campus with wireless access, but I think you have to be a student to use it. Having never had the ability to use wireless (no laptop), it was never an issue for me.

Yeah, I was gonna say: I left Penn State before I'd heard of wireless internet. If there's a Schlotzky's Deli there, you might check with them; I think all of their locations have wireless (and Macs! Yummy, yummy Macs).

Faith, there's no need to apologize. Just glad everyone's okay. While I sometimes do whine about people not writing much, I certainly understand when they simply can't. (And I only whine because I think you're all good writers.) Come back when you can.

I don't think wireless internet is a concept that's really arrived in central PA yet...

Okay, I've had minimal experience with CafePress -- minimal to the point that, if I actually ever made the merchandise available, I can't remember what it was and it was only for a very limited time.

I figured you weren't making 600 seconds t-shirts, but it's the idea that occurred to me first when I saw the topic. At one point, I also once thought a collection of favorite readings might be nice.

I thought you had a CafePress store that they cashed you out of because you didn't get enough volume. Huh.

It's invisible city shirts I'm thinking of, but 600seconds is a cute idea, too. (I don't own the art on this site, though.) I had made a bunch of taglines for bookmarks I gave out at a convention. My favorite from that run, when there were 10 of us, was:

10 monkeys. 10 typewriters. 10 minutes.

I have no experience with CafePress, but I hope more of you will follow my lead and not let that stand in your way of writing. I do have a question, though: if you were designing a 600seconds t-shirt, what would you put on it?

One could hope it's because people are less apt to toss a word that important around carelessly.
